Welcome to our April 2022 Release Notes! This month is a little different. Normally, updates focus on improvements for SaaS users. Now, On-Premises users and enterprises get some extra love, too! This round of updates adds helpful customization capabilities and dashboard enhancements with Power BI creating a dynamic Delivery Management system.

The three main updates for March include:

  1. Administrative approvals for new users
  2. Configuration options for materialized views for specific workspaces
  3. Power BI Dashboards for Jira and Azure Integration

Let’s take a look!

1. User Signup/Login Approval System for OnPrem

Administrator users have been wanting the option to approve or disapprove login access for new users with their on-prem installations of Gitential. This is now live.

The basic flow:

    • User Login/Signup with their provider.
    • If the user is not approved (yet) he/she will see a message in the application and cannot start using the application.
    • Administrators get a notification email about the new user.
    • Admin opens the application and visits the new Manage Users view
    • The admin approves the new user login.
    • New users get a notification email about the approval
    • The next time the user visits the application, he/she can start using it.

2. Improved Custom BI reporting support through standardized materialized views

A number of users have expressed a desire for materialized views to work in conjunction with the Power BI dashboard. Now, any on-prem user can easily create, but also customize their configuration as needed.

3. Jira and Azure Integration

Another area on-premises users have wanted to see more of comes in the way of Jira and Azure boards integration. We started with Jira and have successfully tested it out with a number of on-prem customers to refine it further before rolling it out globally. On-Prem users can now use Power BI dashboards as an Automated Delivery Management tool to track team performance from sprint to sprint, showing for example:

  • Delivery KPIs
  • Delivery Coding Activities
  • Speed
  • Waste
  • Work Allocation
  • High-level view of Project performance
  • Jira Item overview
  • Priority and Hours
  • Scrum Ticket Details
  • No of Developers and Total Hours by Sprint
  • Details on Logged Hours by Sprint

Different organizations collect and organize their data in different ways so they have different needs and expectations. So, now you’ll be able to create custom and flexible solutions thanks to Power BI dashboards.
